WOO! GET IT IN THE APP STORE HERE!
CROMWELL, CT - May 6, 2010 - Premier game developer Venan Entertainment (Space Miner: Space Ore Bust) and designer toy studio Shawnimals today announced that Ninjatown: Trees of Doom! is now available for the iPhone and iPod touch. At only $1.99, this game is perhaps the best ninja-related deal EVER.
It's a sunny day. You are a Wee Ninja dreaming of ninja star cookies and awesome moves. Ol' Master Ninja awakens you with a poke from his hickory cane: "It is time to test your skills with the most dangerous of challenges, young ninja." Like so many before you, it's time to ascend the Dark Forest trees, and face all of their obstacles: ninja-hating Devils that fly, shoot and poke, the deadly Dark Syrup, and Mount Feroshi's lava balls. It is times like these when a ninja must dig deep and unleash climbing skills and a keen eye for power-ups!
"Ninjatown: Trees of Doom! falls into the ‘go as far as you can' genre on the iPhone. Our goal was to inject sophistication and strategy to this kind of game," said Brandon Curiel, CEO at Venan. "Humor and adorableness was important too," added Shawn Smith, creator of Shawnimals. "Micro-sized, yet, endlessly replayable games are where the iPhone really shines as a game platform, and I think we've cooked up something special!"
For those that want to go down in ninja lore, the game has integrated Plus+ technology for global leaderboards and awards, and also includes Facebook and Twitter support for players to share their progress with friends and followers.
Ninjatown: Trees of Doom! is produced by Pickle King Productions and is self-published by Venan under its Venan Arcade label. Stay up to date on the game on Twitter and on Facebook.

Got it and I absolutely love it! My girlfriend and I were trading my phone back and forth to play for hours today, and we really had a blast! It's incredibly polished and the controls are super intuitive. I have no clue how you get some of those Plus+ high scores though, geez. I got to 1,200 and that took a lot of effort!
Playing this really made me want more Shawnimals games though... I would absolutely love even an HD port of Ninjatown with slightly rebalanced difficulty (IMO the game is surprisingly hard). I know Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes is jumping their game from DS to PS3/360 and it looks incredible. Something to consider... *cough cough hint hint*

I LOVE this game, and I can't stop playing it (it was even hard to take the time away to write this)! I've been a huge Shawnimals fan for years and I love plus+, so seeing them working together was like a dream come true! The game play is great, The animation is stupendous, and seeing the ninjas altogether is amazing. I just have one complaint.... the wee ninja is the only playable character. Should there be an update that uses an award system like dizzypad Tees of Doom would be the greatest game in the AppStore ( and should such an update come out pleas include the zombie ninja :))! Well... I have to get back to playing Trees of Doom....and thank's for making such an epic game!

Trees of doom is my favorite app! The game is so well created That I've spent hours playing! My only complaint is that it occasionally freezes my iPod and I have to reboot it. You should try to fix that in an update. Just a little upgrade on what Christian said: First off more characters sounds great and would definitely improve gameplay but to make that even better, Each character should have its own set of power-ups. Wee Ninja has smoke bomb, mustachio, bubble gum shield, etc. For example, Business Ninja could call a Grilluh to take him up the tree instead of mustachio. It would really improve the greatness that already is Ninjatown: Trees of Doom.

I completly agree with you C.G., but wouldn't it be Easyer on the developers if each ninja only had one special ability each?

Thanks for the nice words all! We're really glad to hear you like it, and appreciate the feedback and suggestions.
Venan did a great job at making a game that was as visually pleasing as it was fun to play. The overall controls and responsiveness of the game are really fantastic IMHO. Feels right, like an old school arcade game.
In any case, I'll pass along the suggestions to Venan and we'll see what we can do. Thanks again!
